The problem I guess is that the day-to-day racism of Jews directed towards Palestinians has not much to do with religion at all, but is an expression of the social-darwinist aspects of Zionism. Zionism, as I understand it, is a pre-dominantly atheist racist ideology, basically the Jewish version of European fascism, in spite of the fact that it - like its predecessors - makes use of religion in order to pursue its ruthless goals.

Andrew, I think that is a slight oversimplification. As Georges Sorel pointed out a hundred years ago in 'Reflections on Violence', the atcual relationship between religious and state bodies is never stated by either of them, instead they both talk in terms of totalising ideologies, but at the same time they reach very pragmatic concordats, written or unwritten, which allow for an unprincipled but effective coordination between the lines. This is because, although their interests are mutually exclusive in theory, they are largely complimentary in practice. This is as true regarding Judiasm as it is regarding Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Shinto, or whatever.

Kassandra, now you are doing what Karin always does, which is assume that Nazi Germany did all sorts of horrible things that require endless restitutions, and that the best way of blackening the name of zionism is to say that it is just about as bad as Nazi Germany was.
And as I always respond, quite apart from the question of whether the official version of WW2 is correct or not, all this harping on the evils of Nazism indirectly gives the zionists, along with all other Jewish factions, the cue they need to respond that whatever they do is justified after "what happened to them."

Kassandra, Rowan has got a point there. However I also like the idea of giving the Zionists a taste of their own medicine. I'm particularly fond of the idea of a war crimes tribunals a la Nuremberg... maybe without the squashed testicles, mock trials, threats of reprisals against family members and other forms of coerced confessions as it was standard operating procedure back then.
